Breakup Depressions
A breakup after a meaningful relationship is also heartbreak. Your emotions won’t let you factor in the 3 billion women in the world that still exist for you. While this little statistic is practical guy advice, there’s your own emotions you have to live with. Here’s how to cope.
The Instant Gratification Vacation. It’s a common fact: a man in a relationship is more desirable to women than a single guy. Quickly recall the girls who may have hit on you (or hinted something) and be shameless about wanting something intimate – and quick. It’ll boost your ego, your mood and get you back on your feet.
Eat Healthy Chemicals- Heartbreak is chemical
So is your mood. Both are directly influenced by what you eat. Keep a healthy mental equilibrium by maintaining a high protein diet and regular blood sugar levels – these prevent mood and energy fluctuations.
While getting morose and eating only morsels sound poetic, starving yourself will only make you feel worse, thus worsening your outlook towards everything. If you just can’t eat, add a scoop of protein to your milk at night and eating several small (but healthy) meals throughout the day.
If your girl broke up with you, it will also hit your testosterone levels, which also dip in times of extreme stress. Get some zinc into your bloodstream to boost testosterone, which is, basically, your manliness.
Also get out in the sunshine – Vitamin D!
A Real Vacation You’ve just lost some happiness. Put some back into your bloodstream, because your productivity at the office is going to dip (unless you’re a poet, artist or musician).
Accept this, take a real break (as opposed to a night out drinking), and come back with more perspective.
Don’t Feel Guilty Even if you don’t go the instant gratification route, you might just seeing female friends in a different light, or feel frustrated suddenly. Let it pass – this is natural.
Don’t Be Alone Everyone you know – even children from the ages of 14 and up know of heartbreak. You can’t hurtle yourself through this phase. Find friends you can trust with your most intimate thoughts and talk. If you can’t get to open up with them, write everything down, no matter how bad it reads – it’ll feel good. Your goal is clarity, not a sonnet.
Moving on is both the journey and the the point of all this. Address things in order to find ways of overcoming them. While your dreams of a future with someone might have led you to plan a certain lifestyle, there are other options. This might also be the start of new friendships as you reach out. With more time on your hands, you can explore life with a new perspective.
